Lassi is thick yogurt, which gets consumed as a refreshment or after a meal. Traditionally, a wooden whisk gets used in making the drink, but today people use a blender or steel whisk.

Lassi originated from India. The traditional savory drink expressly referred to as Punjabi got made with salt and fresh set curd. A cooling spice of small quantity got roasted, powdered, and use to make the exquisite pure thick liquid.



The thick yogurt is popular in India and its neighboring countries. The people get to consume it as refreshments in their homes and at several restaurants around the country. Residents like the smooth texture of the drink because it gets prepared through whisking.

Vegetarians may make themselves vegan lassi yogurt, which gets made from almond, soy, or coconut milk.

Hundreds of variations of lassi exist, and they may be salty, sweet, or fruity. Plain lassi started the whole recipe, but now mango lassi is the most popular among people’s favorites. Depending on each preference, the formula may be family-oriented by adjusting the taste and passing it to your generations. Despite the many flavors available, the same method gets used to make all types of lassi.

INGREDIENTS

3 tbsp Sugar
1/4 tbsp Cardamon Powder or Elaichi Powder
1 tbsp Rose Water OR Gulab Jal
2 cups Yogurt
1 cup Water
5 Ice cubes

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Put all the ingredients in a mixer
  2. Mix well for a few minutes till it turns frothy
  3. Transfer it to serving glasses
  4. Garnish with chopped nuts

1/4 tbsp Chat masala
Pinch of salt

Flavored Lassi
