What you need for a good biryani

To make good biryani you need to make use of good quality ingredients. The choice of good quality basmati rice, whole spices, spice powders, ghee, meat  all contribute to the flavors of a good biryani.

  1. Basmati Rice

There are many different kinds of basmati rice available nowadays. In India you can buy basmati rice either from the local stores or from online marts. If you buy from an online mart you can choose to buy from JioMart, Amazon, BigBasket. If you want your biryani to be more fluffy then buy the naturally aged basmati rice. Aged rice turns out to be more fragrant too.

2. Biryani Masala (Spices)

Good quality spices make the flavor of the Biryani better.  Therefore, choose a Biryani masala or a garam masala to elevate the taste of your biryani.

3. Ghee

Nowadays biryani is prepared using refined oil. But traditionally biryani was made using ghee. Therefore, you can prefer to add ghee.

4. Meat

You can use different parts of the meat in order to prepare a good biryani. If you want more tender then use succulent pieces of the meat.

5. Marination

Marination of the meat with spices and yogurt is the main step to making a good biryani. Marination makes the meat soft and more juicy. Therefore, you shouldn’t skip that part.

6. Rinsing and Soaking the rice

Rinsing helps to get rid of the starch. Soaking helps to cook the rice grains to fluffy and long.

7. Use low heat

Adjust the amount of heat required to cook the recipe. I prefer to cook the recipe in low heay instead of high heat.
